Haaland and Marmoush Seal Comeback Win for City Over Bournemouth

With the help of a strong second half, Manchester City overcame a deficit to defeat Bournemouth 2-1 and advance to the FA Cup semi-final against Nottingham Forest.

On the south coast, Andoni Iraola's squad got off to a fast start and took the lead when Justin Kluivert's shot was pushed in by Evanilson after Matheus Nunes' spectacular cross-field ball gave Bournemouth the opportunity to attack.

Erling Haaland missed a one-on-one after scurrying through on goal, and City had previously wasted a penalty when Kepa Arrizabalaga stopped the attacker from 12 yards out.

But because of their speed and ferocity, the Cherries deserved to be ahead. At halftime, Pep Guardiola decided that City needed a change and summoned up Nico O'Reilly off his bench to play down the left.

As the replacement pushed forward and helped Haaland equalize with his 30th goal of the season, the effect was nearly instantaneous.

On the south coast, however, he would no longer be contributing further, following a close encounter with an advertisement hoarding and an incident with Cook that resulted in a twisted ankle.

His substitute In just two minutes, Omar Marmoush gave City the lead by slipping a low shot past Kepa, who ought to have done better.

Since then, it has been like seeing the old Manchester City under Guardiola, who dominated possession and ended the match in a confident and elegant manner. City celebrated their sixth consecutive FA Cup semi-final after surviving seven minutes of stoppage time.

Bournemouth just lost steam and failed to score a single goal in the second half, leaving them without a victory in ninety minutes in six games.

Even after a memorable season, City still has a chance to win a title. There is a serious chance that they will win it again.
