Zoey Deutch Teases Glen Powell Over His Rom-Com Roles Post 'Set It Up'

During a backstage interview at New York's Barrymore Theatre, Zoey Deutch jokingly chastised her co-star Glen Powell from "Set It Up" for his subsequent successes in romantic comedies. Preferring to Powell's parts in "Anyone But You" and "Hit Man," Deutch, who is currently appearing in a Broadway revival of Thornton Wilder's "Our Town," couldn't help but laugh, adding, "Stop cheating on me, Glen!"

Deutch, for all her playful remarks, seemed genuinely pleased for Powell's achievements. "I'm very thrilled for him. She praised Powell's hard ethic and politeness toward everyone he works with, saying, "No one deserves it more." The amusing remark she made regarding Powell "cheating" on her with co-stars Sydney Sweeney, Adria Arjona, and even Daisy Edgar-Jonesᅳwho co-starred with him in "Twisters"ᅳreflects the strong friendship they had whilst filming "Set It Up."

Deutch and Powell played executive assistants who plotted to pair up their demanding employers in the 2018 Netflix blockbuster, directed by Claire Scanlon and written by Katie Silberman, only to find themselves falling in love with each other. Both performers hilariously refuted rumors of a real-life relationship that were fueled by their on-screen chemistry.

Taye Diggs, who also acted in the movie, said he was open to going back to the characters given the unexpected popularity of the first film, while reflecting on the film's success and the talk about a possible sequel.

In "Our Town," a Kenny Leon-directed production, Deutch resumes her theatrical career with Jim Parsons and Katie Holmes. Tickets are presently on sale for the performance, which is taking place at the Barrymore Theatre.
