Tuchel's Home Office: FA Allows Manager to Skip Premier League Weekends

It has been revealed that England manager Thomas Tuchel has agreed to work from home with the FA, which has prevented him from attending any of the last three Premier League weekends.

Although Tuchel was named Gareth Southgate's replacement in October of last year, he didn't start working there full-time until the beginning of the new year.

Although England won't play Albania until late March under Tuchel's leadership, the German has been spotted at many Premier League stadiums keeping an eye on possible first-team players.

Though he only began his new position a little over six weeks ago, the former Chelsea manager has not been spotted visiting any stadiums during the previous three Premier League gameweeks, which has raised worries.

According to the Times, the FA has given Tuchel the freedom to work from home, which will enable him to return to Germany on a regular basis to see his family.

This move is not all that different from that of Sarina Wiegman, the head coach of the England women's team, who has performed her duties while traveling from her family's home in the Netherlands.

Furthermore, there's no indication that Tuchel hasn't been monitoring games even if he wasn't there. Additionally, he is reported to have visited St George's Park, the home field of the national team, many times.

Tuchel missed the opening legs of both midweek Carabao Cup semi-finals and a full schedule of FA Cup third-round action the following weekend after attending four games on his first weekend in his new position at the beginning of January.

Then, from January 14 to 22, the 51-year-old went to seven games, including Manchester City's Champions League matchup with Paris Saint-Germain and the North London derby.

On February 2, Tuchel traveled to Milan to study England veteran Kyle Walker at his new club. Six days later, he traveled to Madrid to monitor Jude Bellingham.

However, in early February, he was also absent from the fourth round of the FA Cup, which included Marcus Rashford's debut for Aston Villa against Tottenham on February 9, as well as another weekend schedule of Premier League play.

Last Tuesday, Tuchel was spotted returning to England for City's match against Real Madrid. On Saturday, he saw Harry Kane play in Munich.

He did, however, watch Chelsea's match against Brighton on Friday, but he again chose not to watch any Premier League activity last weekend.

Thomas has attended 17 matches in England and abroad to watch English players since joining in January. The FA defends Tuchel's working arrangements.

After having a successful managerial tenure in England with Chelsea, Tuchel had mentioned his strong connection to the nation when he originally took the position. However, he also promised to strike a balance between family life and work.
