Call of Duty: Warzone Update Nerfs Popular Weapons

Raven Software has dropped a new update for Call of Duty: Warzone. They have made the HDR Sniper Rifle and CR-56 AMAX Assault Rifle weaker. These guns, added in Season 3, were loved by players. But now, both these and a few others have their power reduced.

Season 3 was big for Warzone. It brought back Verdansk, the first map, with some famous guns like the HDR and AMAX. Verdansk first came in 2020 but was replaced by Caldera in 2021, upsetting fans. After a long wait, Verdansk returned last month. This made players very happy.

Along with Verdansk, some old guns like the HDR, Kilo 141, and AMAX were back too. These guns were great in the 2019 Modern Warfare days. But now, their power might be over, as a new update has made the HDR and AMAX weaker.

The official patch notes show that the AMAX's headshot multiplier dropped from 1.6x to 1.35x. Its sprint-to-fire speed is now slower, from 190 ms to 215 ms, and its aim-down-sight move speed fell from2 m/s to 3 m/s. For the HDR Sniper Rifle, flinch resistance decreased by 60%, plus changes to Heavy Stock and Combat Stock attachments.

This update also comes as Raven Software temporarily removed Ranked Play in Warzone. They announced on Twitter that due to server disconnects and errors in SR awards, the competitive mode is off. It's unknown when Ranked Play will be back, but Raven says they aim to fix it soon.
