Pocketpair put out Update 0.5.3 for Palworld. This new update fixes a few game problems and is smaller than other recent patches for the popular survival game.
Palworld surprised many in 2024, with over seven million copies sold in five days. To build on this success, Pocketpair keeps updating the title, such as with the Feybreak patch, adding a big new island. They revealed that over 32 million people played Palworld, counting sales on Steam and Xbox Game Pass.
It solves a memory leak on servers and an autosave problem for PS5 players. But the PS5 bug might occur sometimes, so players should report it if needed. The third bug fixed deals with a glitch that could roll back server save data. Other "minor bugs" were also fixed to improve game polish.
This update is smaller than the 0.5.0 patch from late March, which added crossplay and a new storage system with larger capacity for Pals.
These updates help bring Palworld to its 1.0 release. In January, Pocketpair shared an early access roadmap, listing future game content. Some, like crossplay, are done, but others, like a final boss, still need to be added.
The future of Palworld is uncertain. John Buckley, game communications director, said Pocketpair is open to releasing the game on the Nintendo Switch 2 if it can run the game. But with Nintendo suing Pocketpair for alleged patent infringement, it's unclear if Palworld will be on the Switch 2.
