After a three-year hiatus, Netflix's acclaimed adult animated anthology Love, Death & Robots is back. The first trailer for the new season has dropped, offering a chaotic glimpse into what's to come — complete with dinosaurs, oversized babies, fluffy cats, nudity at concerts, and plenty of fiery explosions. True to its name, we're eager to see how much love, death, and robots the latest batch of episodes will deliver.
In past seasons, each short has been informally judged by how strongly it embraced those three core themes. Typically, the death count has been high, robots have made frequent but uneven appearances, and love — well, that's usually been the rarest element. But with some of the wild visuals teased, including a scene featuring a googly-eyed sex toy, perhaps Season 4 will balance things out differently.
Love, Death & Robots was created by Tim Miller (Deadpool) and David Fincher (Fight Club), with its first season premiering on Netflix in 2019. Each installment features a standalone story, uniquely animated by different studios using a variety of styles and techniques.
The fourth season is set to premiere on Netflix on May 15.
