Dutch multinational NetEase's hero shooter immediately before the game is almost put into existence; about 45,000 viewers on average view the game's starting entries on Twitch, a venue created by xQc. Right at the beginning was this launch: the Marvel Rivals Tournament held by the world's most popular streamer today, xQc, with a colossal $250,000 prize. To be more exact, it's quite the promotional juggernaut for NetEase because, at the launch, it already accrued some sort of momentum with about 45,000 average monthly viewers on Twitch, the very venue that created xQc. As far as maximally exploiting the opportunity presented to xQc and Twitch in terms of follower numbers and the high-profile potential of the game is concerned, it was organizing an event in history.
Countdowns for such things have mostly been hundreds rather than specific, and none at all aimed at a huge event. A standout among the Overwatchs is xQc, who was honored with the title of being the absolutely totally Overwatch World Cup MVP. He had ritual appearances in Twitch Rivals when grand tournaments over various games were put up. It now looks like xQc is finally ready to put his name behind something that can turn into one of the most significant tournaments in gaming history. Interestingly, NetEase will license this tournament, as per xQc. It will be live cast directly on xQc's Twitch channel, expectantly as its organizer and player, if not then certainly having a role as a commentator.
xQc fans heard one of the event initiatives: starting the tournament with him on his team and switching to commentating once they are knocked out. It should be stated again, however, that absolutely no further information has been given about the xQc Marvel Rivals tournament. As of now, details regarding which big names would join the tournament, prize pool distribution, and even matchmaking and playoff structures remain a mystery at best.
Almost all major tournaments have been from the Marvel Rivals themselves, as hosted by some of their favorite famous streamers over the past years, such as Ludwig's Super Smash Bros. event in 2022. This most probably is due to the fact that the creators and the developers do not seem to give any support, as the game is still very much new in its very early stages of development.
xQc holding a Marvel Rivals tournament bodes well for another major push in marketing down the line for the game. The hero shooter from NetEase recently smashed all its records and is allegedly among the top names in the multiplayer genre right now. Not only that, though, does the developer promise much more in store within seasons 3 and 4, looking into massive deals with top creators within the community to build excitement in its audience.
