Fans eagerly awaiting the next chapter in Sony's acclaimed animated Spider-Man saga finally have news to celebrate. At CinemaCon 2025, Sony Pictures confirmed that Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse will swing into theaters on June 4, 2027.
The much-anticipated sequel follows 2018's Into the Spider-Verse and 2023's Across the Spider-Verse, both of which redefined animated superhero storytelling. Originally planned for a 2024 release, the third installment was delayed indefinitely in 2023 due to industry-wide strikes by the Writers Guild of America and SAG-AFTRA. Now, fans can mark their calendars with a firm date.
To build excitement, Sony also unveiled five new promotional images from the upcoming film. The artwork features Miles Morales (voiced by Shameik Moore) portrayed both as Spider-Man and as his darker counterpart, The Prowler. Across the Spider-Verse left audiences on a cliffhanger, with Miles trapped in a grim alternate reality facing off against his own variant — and no friendly neighborhood heroes in sight.
CinemaCon attendees were treated to a short sneak peek showing Miles soaring through a vivid, kaleidoscopic world alongside familiar faces like Spider-Gwen and Spider-Punk (Hobie Brown). In the brief footage, Miles asserts his independence, declaring, "Everyone keeps telling me how my story is supposed to go. I'm gonna do my own thing."
For now, the preview remains exclusive to those at the event, but fans can enjoy the newly released stills while they await summer 2027.
