Redefining Creativity: The Historic Auction of Robot Art

Sotheby's is set to make history by hosting its inaugural auction featuring artwork produced by a robot, marking a significant milestone in the intersection of technology and art. This "digital art day" event will showcase "AI God," a striking portrait of the iconic Alan Turing, crafted by Ai-Da, a pioneering humanoid robot artist. Turing, celebrated for his groundbreaking contributions to mathematics and computer science, played a crucial role in deciphering the German Enigma code during World War II and is often regarded as the father of modern computing. The portrait, measuring 64 by 90.5 inches, combines various media and was created earlier this year. Sotheby's anticipates that it could sell for between $120,000 and $180,000 when bidding opens on October 31, further blurring the lines between human creativity and artificial intelligence.
