Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 from Warhorse Studios has sold three million copies within three months of its launch, making it a frontrunner among video games of 2025.
It was praised by critics as being superior to the 2018 one—the original—while trying to keep the best features. Reviews were positive; word of mouth spread, and sales were boosted. The game hit two million sales in February and continued projecting more sales after.
Warhorse Studios declared on X that Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 sold 3 million copies, the first iteration achieved 10 million sales. In March, Warhorse also stated that the sequel sold five times more copies than the original during its first month. It gives some hope that the sequel will eventually outsell the original.
There are a lot of points that contribute to the steep sales figures. It was widely acclaimed by both journalists and players alike. Then again, Warhorse Studios backed the game very well post-launch with free updates, including one adding a hardcore mode for those wanting an even tougher challenge.
Players have been showered with free content from Warhorse Studios for the past three months, while more brand-new content is set to follow. Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 has already shared the first details of an expansion, set for release sometime this month. There are three paid DLCs promised for this year, so players have plenty to look forward to in 2025.
