Elon Musk's xAI Chatbot Grok to Challenge OpenAI's ChatGPT at a Lower Price Point

Elon Musk's latest AI venture, xAI, is preparing to unveil its chatbot as part of the Premium+ subscription plan, available for a mere $16 per month, once it completes its beta phase. The chatbot, named Grok, is positioned to be a direct competitor to OpenAI's ChatGPT and has already been rolled out to a handpicked group of users in a soft launch.

Musk delightedly shared several screenshots of Grok, acknowledging that its responses will be imbued with his characteristic sense of humor. Furthermore, Musk lauded Grok's capabilities in contrast to its competitors by tweeting, "Grok benefits from real-time access to information through the X platform, which is a significant advantage over other models." While the exact release date from the beta phase remains undisclosed, Musk assured the public that it will become accessible to all X Premium+ subscribers upon its official launch.

These announcements were timed to coincide with OpenAI's first developer conference, a company that Musk co-founded and was a part of until 2018. It's important to note that OpenAI's ChatGPT is available at a monthly cost of $20, placing it in direct competition with xAI's Grok.
