Nvidia's graphics card lineup has relied on the GeForce RTX 3060 Ti as a crucial component for over two years. With its impressive performance, top-notch features, and reasonable pricing (during non-mining periods), this model has always been appealing to mainstream gamers. However, the end of its lifecycle is approaching, and it appears that this venerable graphics card is being phased out.

Nvidia has ceased distributing the GA104 chips utilized by the RTX 3060 Ti, according to a post on Benchlife(opens in new tab). The reasonable conclusion is that Nvidia is preparing to produce RTX 4060 versions and wants to clear existing stock before the new cards are released.

The stoppage of RTX 3060 Ti chip manufacture does not indicate that stocks would run out very soon. You should be able to get your hands on one for the foreseeable future, and if you're lucky, you might even get a nice deal.

The RTX 4060 Ti 8GB is scheduled to release in May, with a 16GB version and the non-Ti RTX 4060 to follow, likely in July. Assuming there isn't another cryptocurrency mining surge, the RTX 4060 Ti is unlikely to experience the same supply problems that plagued the RTX 3060 Ti. If Nvidia prices the RTX 4060 Ti competitively, it could become the most sought-after graphics card of 2023 and possibly even 2024.
