Rockstar Games has now pushed the launch of Grand Theft Auto 6 to 2026. According to the game company, the game still needs plenty of work to capture the fan love like no other, according to their past titles. Initial mentions made during the first major installment of its trailer in December 2023 stated that it would go live in 2025. However, the development was troubled with years full of silence before finally getting a voice on Twitter with an announcement—does it come this year?
So now, the date of GTA 6 has changed to May 26, 2026. The fans still have to wait another year to play it. Developers from Rockstar say they need more time to work on an excellent release. They have also apologized for the delay and extended gratitude to fans for their wait. More information regarding the same will be issued soon, according to them.
Many fans have been saddened the most by this, but a large number have come with the team. This tweet cashed in some great replies in no time. Most, however, concede that the game needs more time before it's out. Others feel pleased to get a launch date for the game.
If it is released in this manner, GTA 6 should have a release window of 4638 days after GTA 5, or just about twelve years and eight months, which is indeed a pretty long time compared to the last six titles of up to eleven years. This shows how much longer developing a game takes now compared to before.
Some spent their time thinking that all other game firms might be delaying like Rockstar has but didn't say how much for the new game. Nevertheless, the fans still hope to know the amount soon.
